The Luthuli Museum

As you saw before, we visited the Luthuli Museum in Groutville to learn about Chief Albert Luthuli. Albert Luthui worked against racial segregation of blacks like Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. We learned that Albert Luthuli was the first African to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, followed by Mandela. Luthuli was under house arrest when he was given the award. He was allowed to go to Oslo, Norway to receive the award, but only for 10 days. After that, it was back to the house. We got to walk around the house that he lived in. In 1967, he was mysteriously killed, and was said to have been hit by a train near his house where he used to walk everyday. Many are skeptical of this idea, though. We also visited Shaka's Observation Rock. King Shaka sat here and watched his army assemble and practice.
