Today we did a bit of walking...actually we have walked A LOT everyday! Becka has a Fitbit that records our steps...we have averaged 14,000 or 6.5 miles per day! Today was no exception.
We started out heading to St. James's Park and Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard.
Of course this seemed like the perfect time for breakfast. Keira picked a waffle with Nutella and marshmallows. Wise choice! It was delish :-)
The it was off to see where Sherlock and Watson "live" in the show. They have left the door with the knocker, but must replace the numbers with 221b when filming. Speedy's is quite tasty too!
We found our way to the Tate Modern Museum. Both the Tate Britain and the Tate Modern are FREE! The art is amazing. Obviously, this museum had quite a bit of modern art and it certainly was interesting. Here's one of mom's absolute favorite artists...Monet!
There is free wifi at most restaurants and the museums. The signal was so good that we were able to Skype with Nana, Papa, and Norah who are having a blast in Pine Hill. They are hoping the rain will clear up a bit so that they can get outside more and enjoy the gorgeous mountains. We can't wait to hear about their trip to the library...the same library Josh would go to when he was a kid.
From the Tate, we headed across the Millennium Bridge. You can see St. Paul's Cathedral in the background.
We finished our day with a walk through Soho Garden. We came out the other side and found a delicious spot for some gelato. We were looking for dinner, but we were so hungry we couldn't wait. Plus, vacation is the perfect reason to have dessert before dinner. We did find a great Spanish tapas restaurant and had a lovely dinner with dessert :-)
Tomorrow it is off to check out the Tower of London and maybe find an afternoon tea.
